Campaign
Two limited-edition colorways — blue and gray — printed with hand-drawn cat and dog motifs. Each shirt featured custom pet embroidery and was sold exclusively through Macy's during the holiday season.
Product
Each Adopt-a-Shirt order included a custom pet portrait embroidered by hand or machine — customers chose their pet's breed, placement, and name for a one-of-a-kind shirt.
Craft
Lifestyle shoots featuring real pet owners and their dogs wearing custom Adopt-a-Shirt embroidery — Cooper the Corgi and Sachiko the Shiba Inu in San Francisco.
Photography
A custom Shopify product experience let customers personalize their shirt — choosing embroidery placement (front or back), pet type (dog or cat), and portrait style, with 10% of the extra charge going directly to SF SPCA.
UX
The Adopt-a-Shirt capsule launched as a holiday pop-up inside Macy's — the first physical retail presence for Cotton the First, running November through December 2019.
Retail
Customers shared photos of their pets alongside their custom Adopt-a-Shirt orders — building an organic community around the collaboration and the SF SPCA mission.
